The World Cup is sponsored by an international oversight organization for soccer called FIFA, which, en Francais, stands for the Federation Internationale de Football Association . Founded in 1904, FIFA is the governing body for all things soccer, from rule changes to the process by which national soccer teams make their way into World Cup competition. And what a process it is. In comparison, it makes the Major League Baseball play-offs look like a sandlot game.

  The World Cup competition is held once every four years in a different host country. Even though the month long competition is held only once every four years, preliminary rounds, between a starting field of 150 national teams, begin two years before the big event. That means there's plenty of World Cup quality soccer to watch right now!

   Teams from large countries, like Brazil and the US, and from smaller countries, like East Timor and Nigeria, compete in numerous tournaments until the final field of national teams is winnowed down to 32. The host country's team ( Germany next) and the home country of the previous champions ( Brazil) are given a free pass - no qualifying victories required.

  Once the actual World Cup tourney gets underway, loyal fans from every corner of the globe flock to the different venues to cheer on their own national teams. Flags are waved, the air is electric and the knowledgeable crowd cheers, boos and hoots as the fortunes of their teams rise and fall. The occasional soccer riot can also be expected as the fanatics from both sides take the fight into the bleachers. Security, as you might expect, is always tight.

     The World Cup is more than a game, more than a world competition, it's a world event - everywhere but in America. But that's changing quickly as more 'Yanks' discover that soccer's elegance and grace, strategy and strength make for compelling sports action and irresistible TV viewing.

  So settle back in the recliner and, as you channel surf, stop to watch a few preliminary games. It won't be long before you recognize the team's star names and the background stories behind each team. Like any sport, the more you know about it, the more you'll enjoy it. Go East Timor!

Recently, I have watched a series of TV program named “a litre of tears” which is adapted by a real, famous story from Japan. The dramatis persona is a brisk, beautiful and bright girl whose name is Aya. Every thing seems to be perfect, however, she was suffered a sudden disaster when she was 15 years old. Aya got a disease that led her losing the ability to control almost all of her body. At last, she can not walk, stand, speak, write and even anything except raise hands hardly. In order to encourage herself, her family and her friends, she began to write diary, record all the process that she contending with the evil since she had known she was unfortunate.

With 10 years struggle, a stage that is most important and priceless for such a girl, Aya had recorded the meaning for life and the value for living thought her diary. She was left the world when she was 25, peacefully and without tears. Her diary then been published and evoked great respondence all over Japan just one night. The book was sold over 1.8 million, giving thousands of people the courage and confidence for life.

A: Recently, I heard that China was condemned by western countries for it’s tightly web controls. You do not surf the net often, do you?......Oh, you do! So, what do you think of internet?

B: Yeap, I hear about that too. I access to internet very often. Wow, internet is pretty great, you can almost find everything you want on it. Without the net, many things you want to do would be deniable.

A: That sounds reasonable. Then what do you usually do on internet?

B: Mwm , it’s hard to tell, perhaps playing games and downloading resources most of the time, at other time I may scan some websites and call at some forums and blogs, I love chatting with my friends too.

A: So do I. If we surf the net halt the time, we are unavoidable to scan some web pages and drop our saying on internet. However, sometimes when people stay too long in virtual world, they may take it for granted that things in virtual world are unreal, so they thought they are supposed that their behaviors on internet are free and they don’t need to take any responsibility for what they say and what they do.

B: Well, that’s a problem. Some people who commit internet crimes even don’t have any idea how serious this thing goes. As I know, some websites contain harmful content such as pornography violence and political offensive are banned, at the meantime, internet polices are deployed to monitor and investigate internet crimes. That is, our behaviors are restricted on internet not less than in real world. Therefore, people should bide strictly by correlative laws and regulations of our country.

A: Sometimes internet controls may be strict but necessary, it makes internet regular and prevents it from going into a big fat mess. We should regard it as normal and not to be blame. Can we imagine how insecure the society and ourselves become if all the restriction suddenly disappear? Unwholesome content will poison and destroy our brothers. Canards and secrets will be spread everywhere, ruining our society. We will no longer be able to protect our benefits from hacker attacks.

B: Definitely. In my opinion, we’d better keep in mind that internet is invented for resource sharing and efficient communication, we should make good use of it and keep it in regulation to benefit ourselves and the world actually, never do things harmful to selves, others and society. If your behaviors are out of permission, you will get punished.

A：At any rate, internet itself is neither good or bad, its value to people and society depends on how it is used. And, as students, it’s suggested that we have the responsibility to utilize internet healthily and appropriately, not only exposing ourselves to excellent things on the net to make a self-development, but also wiping baleful information and behaviors off our daily use of the net.

When we were small children, we depend on our families, to gain love and support, seldom do we know that the value of friendship. Gradually, we were growing and went to school, then we made some friends among our classmates. However, the teenagers often ignore their families and always do something object to their parents in their junior school time. Now we are in our twenties, a part of us have their girlfriend or boyfriend. Love becomes the centre of their life.

     To my own situation, families are forever the first place in my heart. My parents take care of me here and there, though they are getting old and I have grown up, they can’t help reminding, missing and looking after me. Withstanding that friendship is dispensable in our life, I still love my families most.

   In the library, I've read an article about Albert Einstein on National Geographic. An old issue.

   The article was about that physicist's great mind, some of which I've never heard of:

1. Cosmos Constant

There was a theory, declaring that the universe is in a static state, which means no expansion or contraction. And it is commonly convinced that gravity, universally wide, is pulling the galaxies, nebulae and other kinds of celestial objects back to a center somewhere in the space. The problem is how to connect and balance both these theories? Einstein thought of a cosmos constant, which is referred to the repulsive force making the static universe. With this constant, the static theory comes into existence. But not long after he had advanced his hypothesis, he thought that it was his biggest blunder, then dropped it.

2.Another ignored discovery

The General Relativity indicates that an object, here referred to celestial objects, with an enormous mass, can pull stuffs passing to its side, even light. Einstein observed that a remote young galaxy bent the light stream near it, thus amplified the objects behind it, the phenomena of which is now called gravitational lensing. But this phenomenon again was thought to be negligible.

3.Black Hole

A young Indian physicist applied Einstein's General Relativity into some celestial objects, indicating the formation of black hole. When an object has an enormous enough mass, its collapse, to as little as only a point, will generate a sphere with enormous mass while volume is null which means its density rockets to infinite. All the laws of physics then break. Einstein loathed such a strange and baffling offspring of his theory, thus denied it. But it turns to be true with the present discoveries.

4. Big Rip

The universe is in a big rip, says an astronomer. It is persuasive that the universe is expanding, contrary to those former physicists' prediction of contraction. Then the "biggest blunder", cosmos constant, is somehow imperative to be gauged out when astronomers observed the stretch and reddening of waves given out by remote celestial objects, which indicated the expansion of our universe. It seems possible that Einstein's repulsive force is much greater than the gravity to pull them together. The fact is the expansion is speeding and the objects on the edge of the universe are accelerated perhaps by that surpassing repulsive force.

5.Gravitational Lensing

Gravitaional Lensing, mentioned above, presently used as a space observation technique, is derived from Einstein's discovery of bending of light stream which helps magnify objects. It has become one of the few methods to observe the black hole and dark substances during their collison ( These are as far as I can remember, so it is probably fallible) That is Einstein, and a few discoveries I did not recognise.

In present society, what the most important capacities are the three “C”, competition, communicate and companionship. In my opinion, it is necessary for universities students to improve their general skills to win the games which they play with other competitor in the society. But that is not enough. Communicate is a direct way to know somebody else and, more meaningful, themselves. As a Chinese idiom, “you will win forever, until you know your competitor and yourself.” Moreover, companionship is no doubt that it is indispensable. No one can live without friends in order to acquire support. So, the three “C”, I think, will be the goal for everyone to pursue.
